The Elevation trim has standard 17-inch wheels providing a strong foundation, and all-wheel drive models will come equipped with off-road mode. 19-inch gloss wheels, painted black grill, roof-mounted side rails, and additional features are available on the black edition. While the Terrain AT4 receive the same 17-inch standard wheels that enhance strength and durability off-road, it also has a lifted ride height to help easily tackle obstacles, and they can be adjusted on different modes to provide traction control and add automatic braking to help maximize performance in varying surfaces.
All the GMC Terrain models receive a standard 11.5-litre turbocharged engine that delivers 175 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque on their FWD models or either 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque on their AWD models. An eight-speed standard automatic transmission is offered on all-wheel-drive models, that's the AT4 and the Denali trims. The Elevation FWD trim gets a standard Continuous Variable transmission (CVT).CVT helps simulate step gear shifting to enhance acceleration and reduce noise at higher engine loads and speeds, making driving more enjoyable.
The interior of the GMC Terrain is covered by luxurious materials and modern conveniences. The front seats are wider than in previous models. The electronic transmission range selection (ETRS) in the steering column minimizes the use of space and allows the creation of simple, practical storage. For the infotainment system, an 11-inch screen located at the centre console provides the driver information, and also a premium 15-inch GMC infotainment system allows the driver and passenger to view three applications at the same time, making it easier and more accessible.
