Rwanda Set to Discuss Hosting Formula One Grand Prix as Africa Emerges as F1's New Frontier

Coming Next month, Formula One Chiefs and Rwanda's representative are scheduled to discuss plans for hosting a grand prix. F1's Goal is to expand its calendar so that it increases interest in the championship globally.

In an interview with motorsport.com, the F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali mentioned that a meeting had been set up with Rwanda to discuss the project. Rwanda has shown serious intention and has represented plans ahead of the Meeting at the end of September. This year, the Country will host FIA's annual general meetings and price-giving ceremony in its Capital city, Kigali.

Since 1993, Africa has never hosted an F1 event again, South Africa being the last to host. Rwanda eagerly wanted to host the event and plans since the 2022 rumors are picking momentum Now.
