The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe makes a debut with a new redesigned big body mid-size SUV, featuring blocky and beveled styling. The Santa Fe is 1.8 inches longer than its previous model, and it offers a six or seven passenger three-row configuration instead of two rows. The interior has also been modernized with new features that freshen up its look.
The SUV uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 277 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. The Santa Fe hybrid consists of a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four paired with an AC motor, which produce a combined 232 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. This makes them differ with a little margin from each other.
The Santa Fe 2.5-liter engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which drives the front wheels or all wheels. The 1.6-liter hybrid Santa Fe comes with a six-speed automatic transmission and also offers front-wheel or all-wheel drive options.
The cabin is made nicer than before, with improved materials and a cleaner center console. The steering wheel looks more like that of a Land Rover, making it fit nicely with the cockpit. A single piece of curved glass houses two 12.3-inch displays, one for infotainment which is touch-screen capable and another one for the instrument cluster.
Separate climate controls are located at the center stack, above a tray with twin wireless chargers and large cupholders. The seats alignment starts with a center armrest bin for both front and rear seats, which is hinged to allow access by either front or rear seat passengers.
The available second row seats are almost as comfortable and adjustable as the front ones, and the legroom is adequate. Accessing the third row is accomplished by climbing between the second row captain chairs.
Behind the second row, the Santa Fe can accommodate 41 cubic feet of cargo, five times more than before. The roof rack can also hold a number of helpful goods, and there is a hidden handhold behind the rear door windows to help climb onto the rear wheel to access the roof rack.
